Whilst teaching on the Textiles BA at Bucks New University I took on the job of designing and building the majority of a set of exhibition stands for student work to be displayed both on site during degree shows as well as at external exhibitions, notably New Designers.
Certain design challenges had to be considered, not the least that the stands must be reusable and easy to both move and store. Due to the broad nature of student output across 3 major disciplines within the textiles umbrella the stands also had to be adaptable enough to accommodate a range of work. An interlocking A-frame system with slotted bases and shelves allows for open plan, plinth or ‘walled’ formats.
